Volunteer Opportunity: 3D Teacher (K-Grade 5)

Ø Job Description: 3D is the name of the Grade School midweek program and stands for “Deeper Discovery and Discipleship”. Grades are currently combined into the following classes—K/1st, 2nd/3rd and 4th/5th. 3D Teachers are responsible to (1) prepare for weekly lessons and activities, (2) welcome children and families into the classroom, (3) present lessons in an age-appropriate and engaging manner that involves and excites the kids, (4) release children to parents in a personable manner and (5) help straighten classrooms after class.

Ø Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate will be able to present lessons and lead activities with passion, will be able to effectively manage a classroom in a firm but kind manner and will have a desire to develop relationships with and between the children they are to serve. No experience is necessary though familiarity with age- and gender-specific behavior and needs will benefit both the class and the volunteer.

Ø Time Requirement: Wednesdays, 3 hours/week on a rotating or permanent basis.

Ø Other Requirements: Attendance at periodic training opportunities throughout the year. Background check.
